I had the honor of capturing Gail & Mark's love at the Raleigh Rose Garden after they had gotten legally married that morning. This was a true microwedding with only 2 guests in attendance, which I loved! Follow us around as we grabbed pictures in this beautiful local spot.

The Raleigh Rose Garden

When Gail reached out to me and told me she was getting married at the Rose Garden, I was all in! This spot is near and dear to my heart as it's in my own neighborhood and I walk and drive past it all the time. Jack & I even took our portraits here last winter that we use on our website and social media.

Situated right behind Raleigh Little Theatre, sunken down below the street, and mostly covered by trees on the outside, this place is such a hidden gem.

Intimate Ceremony Among the Trees & Roses

The Raleigh Rose Garden is the perfect venue for an intimate ceremony, and even allows for larger weddings and events as well! Gail and Mark's guest list only included two of their close friends, who were so kind and happy to be there celebrating the newlyweds!

I absolutely love that micro-weddings and elopements are becoming more popular. It's so much less planning, more affordable, and creates such a stress-free experience for the couple and their chosen guests.

I had a great time capturing so many beautiful moments between these two as well as the fun and excitement among the group!

Couples Portraits at the Raleigh Rose Garden

I absolutely LOVED capturing the love between this sweet couple! We walked all around the Rose Garden capturing little moments as they happened.

The one piece of advice I would give to anyone getting married or doing a shoot at the Rose Garden is to choose your timing wisely! This ceremony was at 11am on a very sunny, cloudless day in May, so the sun was super bright and high in the sky. This isn't a problem in the abundant shady parts of the garden, but the roses are drenched in sunlight at this time of day, making it a little bit harder to get all those beautiful shots within the rows of roses.

On an overcast day or late in the afternoon is when your photos in the blooms will look best!

Bouquet of Roses

I absolutely LOVED Gail's bouquet! It went so perfectly with the venue, the season, and her dress. Can you believe she put it together herself?!

Simple, Short & Sweet Wedding

I loved all the details of this wedding and I loved capturing the day for these two. They and their friends were so sweet to work with and I'm so happy with how the photos turned out! I can't wait to shoot more weddings like this one at the Raleigh Rose Garden.
