Celine's Senior Session in Boulder


Celine’s senior session was such a memorable adventure! We started out at Chautauqua Park in Boulder on a July afternoon, but the weather had other plans. Despite checking the forecast all day, a sudden thunderstorm rolled in just as we arrived — complete with booming thunder and heavy rain! We decided to postpone and came back two days later to clear skies and sunshine, which made Chautauqua even more stunning than we expected.

Trails & Tall Grass At Chautauqua Park


The second time around, Chautauqua did not disappoint. Even though it's a popular photo location, it's easy to find space away from everyone else. We explored winding trails through tall grass bathed in golden sunlight, creating a natural, serene backdrop that felt like a secret summer hideaway.

Soundtrack to Your Senior Session


I always ask my seniors about their music taste as part of the booking process. Celine is all about the 90s r&b, EDM, and pop, so I put together a playlist that perfectly set the vibe. We listened to it as we walked and posed, which really helped bring out her relaxed and fun energy. Celine got comfy in front of the camera quickly, and was posing like a natural in no time!

Why Book a Summer Senior Session?


These photos were taken in July, just before Celine’s senior year officially started. Getting your pictures done early means you’re not adding another thing to your busy senior year schedule. Plus, you get to start sharing your photos before everyone else (#seniorsunday)!


July in Boulder was definitely hot — by the end, we were sweating our butts off! But if you’re dreaming of photos deeper in the mountains or at higher elevations, summer is the best time weather-wise. Wildflowers are at their peak, trees and grass are extra green, and the sunshine gives us warm, cozy light.


That said, summer storms can surprise you (like they did for Celine and me on our first try at Chautauqua) but don’t worry. We can always work through it or reschedule if needed to get the perfect shot.

Can I Bring Family to My Senior Session?


This is a question I get asked often, and the answer is yes, of course!! Seniors often bring parents, siblings, or friends to their sessions, and it makes such a big difference in the feel of the session. It's great to have a familiar person there with you to lend an extra hand, make you feel more comfortable, and offer suggestions and support! Celine’s mom, sister, and grandma all came along to cheer her on, and I had to talk them into a few pics!

Downtown Vibes on Boulder's Pearl Street


After soaking up the nature at Chautauqua, we headed to Pearl Street for the second half of the session. We found all the quiet alleyways, hidden corners, and cozy spots under string lights to create a fun, urban contrast to the park photos. The mix of natural golden hour glow and cozy string lights on Pearl Street gave her photos a beautiful warmth and texture.

Posing for Your Senior Pictures


After spending a couple of hours together, seniors usually start to loosen up and feel more comfortable in front of the camera, and Celine was no exception! Once we had all the classic shots covered, we dove into more creative and fun poses. I love involving seniors in the process, so I always ask for their ideas too.


Movement is a big part of what makes photos feel authentic and lively — I might ask you to walk, run, spin, or sway to capture natural, dynamic moments. This approach helps us avoid stiff or basic poses and instead creates images full of energy and personality.
